Our Story

Awal Nouzilal (“Voice of Azilal” in Tamazight) was founded in Azilal by Andrew Larson, Mohammed Ali Qahir, and local youth leaders. From the start it focused on capacity building—training youth to design programs, run operations, and lead—ensuring local, lasting ownership. Today leadership is shared: Mohammed Ali Qahir heads Morocco operations and programs; Andrew Larson oversees international partnerships, strategy, and storytelling.
